Alfie Appeal Pledge Page

Emma and I Began raising money under the name Alfie Appeal when our friends little boy was diagnosed with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy, Krabbe A. Alfie was about 20 months old when he was diagnosed. After a discussions on not knowing what we could do to help, and feeling useless, we decided to organise a sponsored fancy dress walk/run to raise funds in order for Alfie's parents to use to get anything they should need for Alfie. Our initial sponsored run idea grew to a fun day after donations upon donations flooded in On October the 5th 2008 The Alfie Appeal fun day was born

Oct 5th
We not only had a day with clowns, face painters, bouncy castles, BBQ, Hog Roast, Disco, Stalls and Live music, but our local celebrity snooker legend Willie Thorne also came down to offer his support and say some words. To say the day was a big success would be an understatement, we had well in excess on 60 people in fancy dress that took part in the sponsored walk/run.

Since this event Alfie's mum Sarah has joined the team as we change direction slightly and raise money for The Myelin Project, which is the only charity registered in the UK the deals with diseases of demyelination or more to the point Leukodystrophies.

We are currently looking at fund raising idea's for the christmas period and are hoping to have some dates and venue's soon.

If you would like to help by either arranging a fundraising event, volunteering for an event or making a donation, please email Emma, Sarah or Jenny at Alfieappeal@hotmail.co.uk.
